Getting Ready for a Home Security System Install

Firstly, make sure to check with your city to make sure you are not required to have a permit for installation of a home security system. You may be able to check right on your city website or you may have to give them a call to find out if there are and ordinances applying to home security systems.

Decide on the ideal location for your keypad. Many people like one by each of their main doorways (for example, in the entryway and by the back garage door), but others like to have just one in a central location, such as the kitchen.

Choose a secure key code for your system. Like your ATM card pin, this key code needs to be one that is easy to remember but difficult to guess. Do refrain from choosing a number such as your address number, birthday, or part of your current phone number. You may also want to assign a guest security code and this should follow the same guidelines.

Make sure any pathways are clear and free from obstructions so we have room to make the install. You will also need these paths clear for yourself once the installation is complete so that you can easily access your keypad when needed.

Do you have any questions? Write them down so you don't forget when your installer is at your home. We are happy to help with any technical or general questions you may have! Don't worry if you think of something later, we are known for our excellent customer service, just give us a call!
